20年来の音楽仲間がそれぞれの「今の感じ」をBACK TO BACKスタイルでまとめ上げたNB&DJ MUの名刺代わりと言える一本。
コアにあるマインドはHIPHOPをベースのしつつも耳あたりの良い選曲と気持ちの良い流れはドライブから部屋で寛ぐ時や作業中にもぴったりな60分間となっています。
イントロにはUKのシンガー/ラッパーKay Youngによるシャウトも収録。
内容もさることながらデザインにも拘り、デザインのディレクションはNB&DJ MUの盟友AK! INOUEが担当。
アートワークは東京を拠点に活動するアーティストで、アーティストコレクティブ「SIDE CORE」のメンバーであるDIEGO によるもの。
路上から美術館、東京から国外まで幅広く活躍中のストリートアート界の異端児。
Toy Graffitiの影響を受けたスタイルのレターと、ユーモラスに擬人化されたラジカセのキャラクターは、今作のための描き下ろし。
初回ロット限定のスリーブケースは、あえて高品質なフルカラープリンターは使わず、ソリッドだけどどこか味があり、独特な風合いを感じられるデジタル孔版印刷機「リソグラフ」で印刷。デジタル版シルクスクリーンのような印刷手法で、世界中のアーティストに引っ張りだこのリソグラフは、実は日本生まれ。
カセットテープの音質にも通じる、リソグラフ特有のどこか懐かしく温かみのある風合いを楽しんでもらえたら嬉しいです。

The first mixtape "Current Vibes Vol.1" by the DJ unit of photographer Nobuhiko Tanabe aka NB and DJ MU, a vintage instrumental shop in town, has been completed!
This is the first mixtape by NB and DJ MU, who have been friends for 20 years, and who have compiled their "current vibes" in a back-to-back style, and it can be called a replacement for NB & DJ MU's business cards.
While the core of the music is based on HIPHOP, the pleasant flow of the music and the easy-to-hear selections are perfect for driving, relaxing in your room, or working.
The intro track features a shout-out from UK singer/rapper Kay Young.
The design of the album was directed by NB & DJ MU's friend AK! INOUE.
The artwork is by Tokyo-based artist DIEGO, a member of the artist collective "SIDE CORE.
DIEGO is an outlier in the street art world, active in a wide range of fields from the streets to museums, and from Tokyo to abroad.
The Toy Graffiti influenced style of lettering and humorous anthropomorphic boom box characters were newly drawn for this work.
The sleeve case, limited to the first lot, was printed using a digital stencil printing machine called "Risograph," which is solid but somewhat tasteful and has a unique texture, instead of daring to use a high-quality full-color printer. RISOGRAPH, a digital silkscreen-like printing method that is sought after by artists around the world, was actually born in Japan.
We hope you will enjoy the warm and nostalgic texture unique to RISOGRAPH, which is similar to the sound quality of cassette tapes.
